Bubbles
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbspns liquid detergent
- 1 tbspn glycerine
- 1/2 tbspn sugar
Mix all ingredients together
Giant Bubbles
- 6 cups water
- 3/4 cup corn syrup
- 2 cups dishwashing liquid
Mix all ingredients together and let sit for 4 hours prior to use. Food colouring can be added to make different coloured bubbles
Face Paint
- 1 tspn cornstarch
- 1/2 tspn water
- 1/2 tspn cold cream
- food colouring
Stir cold cream and cornstarch until blended. Stir in water and food colouring. Store in an airtight container. Paint can be washed off with soap and water.
Puffy Paint
Mix together equal amounts of:
Add food colouring. Store mixture in a plastic squeeze bottle (e.g. sauce bottle). When used, mixture will harden into puffy paint.
Finger Paint
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tspn salt
- 1 cup hot water plus 2 tbspn cold water
- 1 cup hot water
- food colouring
In a saucepan mix flour and salt. Gradually add cold water. Add hot water and boil until clear. Beat until smooth and mix in food colouring. Allow to cool before storing in an airtight container. You can also store the uncoloured mixture and add food colouring as needed.
Glue
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 tbspn corn syrup
- 1 tspn white vinegar
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 3/4 cup cold water
In a saucepan mix water, syrup and vinegar and bring to a rolling boil. Place cornstarch and cold water in a bowl. Slowly add corn syrup mixture, stirring continually. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Store in an airtight container. Glue works best after it has set after 48 hours.
Papier Mache Paste
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup flour
- 5 cups lightly boiling water
Mix flour and one cup of water until mixture is thin and runny. Stir into boiling water. Gently boil and stir for three minutes. Cool before using.
Playdough (uncooked)
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 cup salt
- 2 tspn vegetable oil
- 3 cups flour
- 2 tbspn\ cornstarch
- food colouring
Mix water, salt, oil and paint. Gradually work in flour and cornstarch until you get consistency of bread. Add food colouring as desired
Playdough (cooked)
- 1 cup salt
- 2 cups plain flour
- 4 tspns cream of tartar
- 2 tbspns cooking oil
- 2 cups water
- food colouring
Mix all ingredients in a suacepan. Add colouring. Cook on a medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly until mixture becomes stiff. Cool and knead on bench until smooth. Store in an airtight container in the refigerator.
Slime
- 1 cup Lux flakes
- 2 litres water
Dissolve soap flakes in warm water in a large plastic container. Add colouring if desired. Allow mixture to stand until it becomes thick, add more water if necessary. Beat mixture with egg beaters.
Goop
- 2 packets cornflour
- water
- colouring
Place cornflour in a large bowl and slowly add water until cornflour starts to form a thick paste and is hard to sitr. Add colouring. Note: the consistency is right when the mixture will pour 'runny' but not stick to your hand.
