FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why has the Enrolment ID changed for a child in my care?
If a child hasn't used care for a long time, has left the service and restarted, or for some reason has been exited and then re-enrolled, than the Enrolment with DEEWR will need to be renewed. Each time a new enrolment is created for a child it will also come with a new Enrolment ID. If you are unsure whether the Enrolment ID is correct, check your Payment Advice or contact the Coordination Unit for clarification.
The Child Care Benefit for one of my families has been cancelled. Why?
CCB is a benefit provided by the federal government to provide a reduction in a family's child care fees. It is a means tested benefit and has a capped ceiling. A family's CCB is decided on information provided to Centrelink or the Family Assistance Office and is subject to a number of different conditions that the family must comply with to be eligible. If a family's CCB has been cancelled then they need to contact the Family Assistance Office on 13 61 50 or go to their local Centrelink Office to discuss why. In the meantime they are required to pay you full fees until such time as their CCB is reinstated.
What is JET/JETCCFA?JFA?
The JET program is designed for people who are reentering the workforce of taking on tertiary studies, to assist with Child Care costs. To be eligible they must meet government eligibility criteria, including being eligible for the maximum CCB entitlement. JET can only be applied when the authority letter has been sighted by the service processing staff and the educator; JET cannot be backdated for approved periods prior to the current processing period - parents will need to make a claim through Centrelink for any outstanding payments. My First Aid Certificate is about to run out!
Under current regulations all educators are required to have current first aid qualifications. An educator MAY NOT operate without current first aid; doing so puts you in breach of the National Regulations and will jeapoardise your insurance coverage. It is important to plan ahead for when your first aid is due to ensure you renew in plenty of time (including receiving the certificate to provide as evidence of currency). There are a number of different First Aid providers operating in the Hunter and Mid-North coast areas. Contact your service for further information.
