Five Star Family Day Care Coordination Unit and carer fees vary from scheme to scheme. The information outlined below provide a general guideline to the costs you may expect to incur, however it is strongly recommended that you contact your nearest Five Star Family Day Care scheme to obtain accurate costs. Fees vary according to the family’s Child Care Benefit (CCB) percentage.

 

What fees / levies might you be charged?

Registration / Enrolment Fee: These will vary between schemes

Bond: Payable to the individual Carer if applicable

Hourly / Daily Rate: The majority of carers work under a deregulated system where they set their own fees according to the services provided.

Child Care Benefit (CCB): is a subsidy from the Federal Government to assist families with the cost of their care. Contact the Family Assistance Office (FAO) on 136150 for details on how your fees can be reduced.

50% Tax Rebate (from July 08): is a further Federal Government initiative for all taxpayers using approved child care to assist them with their child care costs. For further information contact the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) or the FAO.

Administration Levies: These vary between schemes

Meals, Playgroup, Nappies and Travel: If your 5 Star Carer provides these services then there may be an additional fee, however some carers do incorporate these charges in their hourly rate.
