Thank you for considering Five Star Family Day Care in relation to childcare for your family.

If you would like to be placed on our waiting list, please complete the Request for Childcare Placement Form and return it to the coordination unit:

What is Family Day Care?

Family Day Care is a network of educators who provide care and learning in their own homes to a small group of children.

The educators and families are supported by a professional coordination unit operated by the City of Newcstle and located in New Lambton.

Educators and their homes comply with all childcare regulations.

Educators have a first aid certificate; criminal record clearance; working with children check; public liability insurance and provide a program of suitable activities.

Educators set their own fees and charges.

Families are able to access a range of government benefits and rebates to assist with the cost of childcare.

What happens next?

If a suitable vacancy is available:

The coordination unit will give you the contact detail of an educator.

You must contact the educator within 24 hours to arrange an interview.

After the interview, if you have an agreed contract and start date you must call the coordination unit immediately to complete the formal enrolment papers before your child can start childcare.

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the referred educator, contact the coordination unit to be referred to another educator when available.

If you require care in the future:

Contact the coordination unit approx 4 weeks prior to your start date.
