Five Star Family Day Care is a home-based alternative to traditional long day care centres, providing quality care for children aged from 6 weeks to 12 years in a safe, warm family environment.

THE FIVE STAR DIFFERENCE

Five Star Family Day Care is a partnership of Family Day Care schemes from the Hunter, Central Coast, Manning and Great Lakes regions, united under one banner to jointly promote Family Day Care.

Accredited carers are able to care for a maximum of seven children in their own home. Of the seven children, there can only be 5 children who have not commenced school. This includes the carer’s own children. This ensures your child gets the highest level of attention at all times. Children are provided with a sense of regularity and stability by seeing the same carer every day. Carers offer flexible care to suit the individual needs of families. Care available includes long day care, before and after school care, overnight, weekend care and vacation care.

Five Star carers and families are linked through their local Coordination Unit. Members of the Coordination Unit include qualified Early Childhood and Administration Staff. There are specialised trainers on hand to ensure carers are equipped with the most up-to-date information and resources. This plays a pivotal role for the scheme to manage, support, resource and train carers, ensuring the scheme operates within legislated guidelines. The Coordination Unit also processes and manages the scheme’s financial and Child Care Benefit requirements and produces numerous resources and support systems within the scheme environment and the wider community.
