Each Five Star Family Day Care Scheme is licensed and required to adhere to the Education and Care Services National Regulation (Draft) and the Education and Care Services Law Act 2010.

Adherence to the Regulations is monitored by trained service staff who visit and support the educators on a regular unannounced basis.

Each Five Star Family Day Care scheme has a set of Policies and Procedures, which are written in consultation with stakeholders and are a supplement to the standards of the Regulations.

The Regulations cover several areas of compliance and state the Standards by which each scheme must operate. Some of the areas covered are

  • Facilities required by the educators
  • Minimum equipment required
  • Safety
  • Child ratios
  • Excursions
  • Emergencies
  • Record Keeping and confidentiality
  • Minimum Policy requirements
